RFID – What is it?

RFID is the abbreviation for “Radio Frequency IDentification” and is a radio wave-based technology which makes it possible to read data on a chip without contact. In our case tamper-proof coded RFID transponders are integrated into our knives and tools, making it possible to identify them via an RFID reader which uses the data saved on the chip.
RFID chips function as transponders – i.e. they are activated and read by the RFID reader using electromagnetic waves. RFID chips allow our knives, tools and accessories to be allocated unique labels, which can then be assigned to specific employees.
